The Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) diploma program at PIA's Youngstown Campus can be completed in just 16 months (for those attending full time) or 32 months (for those attending part time). After successfully completing the required examinations, graduates are eligible for certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Technicians.

Graduates who obtain their FAA certification generally begin their careers in entry-level positions with aircraft manufacturers, maintenance facilities, charter services, regional airlines, or corporate aviation departments.

Five years later I moved to Minneapolis, MN, to work for Northwest in the wheels and brakes shop.
