Jump Start Placement Assistance
Jump Start Placement Department
PIA believes that teaching a student is only part of the mission. Knowing how to operate equipment is useless if you don't know how to get a job, so PIA teaches students to do both. PIA's helpful staff members assist each student with job placement during and upon completion of the course. Students are advised on what to look for in a company and how to choose the company that best meets their needs.
Accepting a job is also part of the placement process. PIA helps students make sure that all paperwork is completed, transportation is arranged, and the start date is confirmed.
Finally, follow-up is an important part of PIA's placement assistance. PIA Driver Training tracks graduates for 90 days from graduation in order to continue to assist with any placement-related issues. The goal is not only to help PIA graduates secure jobs, but also to help them maintain employment.
On-Campus Recruiting
PIA hosts company representatives for presentations on a regular basis. These presentations are open to graduates as well as PIA students who are about to complete their training.
Employer Testimonial
"The PIA's Jump Start training program for CDL-A and Heavy Equipment Operations is helping to meet the growing workforce needs of the natural gas industry and its support industries.
The Jump Start training allows the student to gain the hands-on experience and knowledge in a short timeframe so they can be qualified to obtain employment in a shorter period of time. The natural gas industry gains an eligible, professionally trained candidate and the student is that much closer to obtaining a good, family-sustaining job - it's a win-win situation.
The PIA's quality of training, emphasis on safety and the dedication of the staff to the graduates are what set them apart as a premiere training provider in South Western PA."
