Pittsburgh Promise

Most high school seniors may think a Post-Secondary education is not obtainable, especially with our current economy.  Students seeking careers in Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Electronics, Mechanical Systems and Electrical Systems may qualify for financial assistance to alleviate some of the educational costs associated with a Post-Secondary degree.

Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics participates in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Promise scholarship as a community commitment to provide students and families of the Pittsburgh Public schools financial support.  Eligible students will be awarded the Pittsburgh Promise scholarship for tuition and mandatory fees not covered by federal and state grants.

PIA trains some of the world's finest technicians. With job opportunities around the globe, we train the next generation of skilled craftsmen within the aviation and non-aviation fields. In the same time it takes to earn a bachelor's degree, successful PIA graduates will have earned an AST degree and experience on the job. We are committed to our students' achievement in the classrooms, shops, and life.

Utilizing the Pittsburgh Promise awards are intended to motivate and enable our students to focus on being successful without the stress of a financial burden.

"The Pittsburgh Promise has enabled me to fulfill my dream of becoming an Aeronautical Technician.  It provided the financial support I needed.  Without the Pittsburgh Promise paying for school would have been extremely difficult.  Also, it alleviated some of the financial burden associated with utilizing student loans."
