Jim Zack, Electronics Instructor in the AET program, has announced his retirement.  Mr. Zack has been an instructor at PIA for the past 20 years. Thank you Mr. Zack for your years of service to students at PIA.


Brief Bio

James R. Zack – Electronics Instructor, 20 years, United States Air force Veteran

CERTIFICATION(S): FCC GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License), NCATT Certified Aviation Electronics Technician (AET), Private Pilot License

Background: Prior to PIA. Mr. Zack completed his studies at the University of Pittsburgh Physics Laboratory for the study of magnetic resonance nuclear spins experiment which became the nucleus of the MRI equipment.   As an Advisory Engineer/Systems Analyst at IBM for 31 years he helped develop the Field Effect Transistor chip process. In addition, he was the Senior Designer of Electrical Systems at ALCOA working on controls for Rolling and Extrusion Mills.

Interests: Mr. Zack enjoys fishing, history and playing the clarinet and saxophone.
