ACCSC Recognizes PIA Myrtle Beach as a School of Distinction

The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges has bestowed another honor upon a PIA Campus.  PIA Myrtle Beach was recognized at the 2020 ACCSC Virtual Professional Development Conference on September 22nd.  The campus was named as a “School of Distinction,” for enabling high-levels of achievement amongst their students and their commitment to the accreditation process.  Myrtle Beach is the third campus of PIA to be honored by ACCSC, with PIA Hagerstown and PIA Youngstown both earning “School of Excellence” recognitions in the past.

Jason Mongan, Director of Education at PIA, expressed appreciation for the recognition, sighting ACCSC’s peer-review process as an essential component in educational growth.  “ACCSC’s ability to assist their accredited institutions in achieving maximum education effectiveness allows PIA to continue to blossom as an organization and as a leader in aviation maintenance education,” says Mongan.  “PIA continues to utilize the ACCSC Standards of Accreditation and other provided resources as tools for the  self-evaluation that is required to ensure that PIA’s education provides the necessary components to assist graduates in finding gainful employment after commencement.”

Campus Director Peg Skalican noted the high-achieving habits of Myrtle Beach students which contributed to the recognition.  “Being named a School of Distinction is truly an honor for our entire organization, from our staff and faculty…to our students and graduates,” says Skalican.
