AFJROTC SC-935 Students visit PIA’s Myrtle Beach Campus

PIA was honored to host the AFJROTC SC-935 students from Columbia High School in Columbia SC. Major Ray C. Hammond, Jr., USAF (Ret), Senior Aerospace Science Instructor and two other teachers escorted the 29 cadets.

The students toured the PIA Campus in Myrtle Beach as well learned about aviation careers as an AMT. Major Hammond was grateful to learn that PIA donated an Electrical Light Box to his classroom, so students can practice hands-on training with electrical circuits!

The group then traveled with PIA to Myrtle Beach airport. The cadets were able to get a behind the scenes tour of the airport operations. A pilot on an incoming flight even joined the group to answer questions about the exciting careers in aviation!
