Bombardier Visit to PIA Pittsburgh

Bombardier Visit to PIA Pittsburgh

Representatives from Bombardier visited the Pittsburgh Campus on Tuesday, April 16th to discuss available opportunities in their commercial aircraft sector.  Michael Bombard and Angela Oliver, both HR Business Partners at the organization, met with 6th and 7th quarter AMT students regarding their location in Bridgeport, WV.  Brian Fleeman, a 2005 PIA Graduate and NDT Technician at Bombardier, returned to his alma mater with his current employer for the visit.

Bombard described the Montreal-based company as one that is “always changing, adapting, and introducing new products.”  Most noteably, Bombardier is responsible for the manufacture and maintenance of the CRJ series of aircraft, which is widely used by regional airlines.  “Every 5 seconds, a CRJ takes off or lands in the world,” said Bombard.  The opportunities at Bombardier range from A&P, Avionics, strucure technicians, crew cheifs, supervisors, and more.  In addition to discussing benefits associated with accepting a position, the group emphasized that the organization is a great place to learn the aviation trade, with opportunities to rise within the ranks.
