Boonsboro Elementary Career Luncheonkbaker
Fifth grade students at Boonsboro Elementary had the opportunity to learn about careers in aviation maintenance on November 27th. Barbara Martin, Admissions Representative at PIA Hagerstown, met with the students during their Career Exploration Luncheon series.
Twenty-four students were present for the discussion on PIA and the aviation industry. When asked how the information they heard would benefit them in career planning, some students said that ‘most people do not know about how planes get fixed, and the people who do it,’ and that ‘it gives them more options’. Many took away valuable lessons they could teach others about aviation maintenance, including ‘that you get to test plane engines, build them, or take them apart,’ and ‘what goals you need to set’ to become a technician.
Thank you to Boonsboro Elementary for having us, we look forward to next years luncheon!
