Celebrating International Women’s Day

As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, we’d like to take a moment to recognize the women of aviation and the impact they are having on the industry.  Our field has forged role models from Phoebe Omlie, the first woman to earn her aircraft mechanics license, to the strong network of female alumni we’ve helped train.  We’d like to thank our current students for your committment to education, and the role you will play in the growing field of aviation.

Currently, women make up about 2.4% of the aviation mechanics in the US, according to Women in Aviation International.  Of PIA’s enrolled students, women make up 7% of the student population.

Thank you to all the women in aviation for your hard work!
