Connecting Opportunities: “Employers & Students”
Training career-ready aviation technicians not only involves educating students on technical skills but providing them the resources they need to be prepared to enter the workforce. It is with great appreciation that we thank the following organizations for visiting our institution recently:
Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services (AMES)
Representatives from AMES visited the Hagerstown and Youngstown campuses of PIA. With locations in Wilmington, OH, and Tampa, FL, AMES provides maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for airlines and operators. Richard Ratliff, Director of Heavy Maintenance, Bailee Carson, Recruiter, and Paula Schneider, Recruiter, discussed their organization with students and current opportunities available. In addition, fourth-term students were able to interview for available positions during their visit.
Skywest
Douglas McCartney, Designated Trainer/Maintenance for Skywest, met with the student body at PIA Youngstown on July 14th. Skywest operates through partnerships with United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, and Alaska Airlines. As of March 2021, Skywest has a fleet of 468 aircraft, including both Embraer and MHIRJ CRJ aircraft.
Endeavor Air
Eric Wagner and Caitlin Kruse of Endeavor Air met with students in Hagerstown, MD, to discuss opportunities available through Endeavor. A longtime partner of PIA, Endeavor Air is a subsidiary of Delta Airlines. Endeavor operates 10 maintenance bases across the United States, including facilities in Atlanta, Detroit, New York City, and Raleigh-Durham.
