The Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (PIA) recently welcomed representatives from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) to its Pittsburgh campus for discussions centered on expanding educational opportunities for PIA graduates. During the visit, leaders from both institutions explored the potential development of a formal articulation agreement that would provide PIA graduates with a streamlined pathway to pursue bachelor’s degrees through Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach, Florida, and Prescott, Arizona, residential campuses, or through Embry-Riddle Worldwide’s online degree programs.

The visit included a tour of PIA’s training facilities, allowing ERAU representatives to experience firsthand the hands-on aviation maintenance education that prepares PIA students for careers in the aviation industry. During the visit, ERAU representatives met directly with a group of PIA students who shared their career aspirations, educational goals, and perspectives on continuing their education after graduation. These conversations provided valuable insight into how an articulation agreement could support graduates seeking to advance their credentials while building successful careers in aviation.

While discussions remain ongoing, this partnership will expand educational options for future PIA graduates.
