GE Aviation – Durham Hits the Road to Visit 3 PIA Campuses

Students at PIA have a better understanding of what it takes to work at GE Aviation’s Durham Engine Facility. Thanks to a road trip by GE Technicians Cory Highfield (left in photo) and Terry Williams, both PIA – Pittsburgh grads, students at three PIA campuses learned about career opportunities building engines at GE’s North Carolina facility. Their recruiting visits for Assembly & Test Technicians took them to the Pittsburgh, Hagerstown and Youngstown campuses the week of May 23. Classroom presentations generated excitement and interest, with 34 students interviewed between the three campuses. There were lots of questions during and after presentations by students, who were also treated to GE Aviation swag.

A June 8 visit is scheduled for the Myrtle Beach campus by a different team.

“We both really, really enjoyed it. The students were super engaged. All in all, there were good questions and the candidates we did interview asked more great questions,” said Highfield.
