I knew I wanted aviation to be part of my future.

Hagerstown Campus, MD

Programs:
Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT)

Employment:
Corporate Air LLC, Aircraft Mechanic

When Nick Silva visited Andrews Air Force Base as part of a national high school leadership forum, he explored hangars filled with various aircraft and saw F-16s take off and land. “After that amazing experience,” says Silva, “I knew I wanted aviation to be part of my future.”

A 2016 PIA Hagerstown grad, Silva worked at Piedmont Airlines and Carolina Aviation Technical Services before joining Corporate Air LLC, a private jet charter and FBO employed by companies like the Pittsburgh Steelers and American Eagle. Silva also enjoys outside learning opportunities, like attending FlightSafety International training in Savannah, GA, and being one of the first to tour a brand new Gulfstream G700.

“One memorable experience was being invited to help perform heavy maintenance checks at Dale Earnhardt Inc. racing,” says Silva. “It was great to visit North Carolina and meet some great guys who have become lifelong friends. The opportunities to learn and grow in this field are endless.”
