Lockheed Martin visits Pittsburgh Campus

A representative from Lockheed Martin met with 6th and 7th quarter maintenance students at the Pittsburgh campus on January 17th.  Pat McCann, HR Business Partner, discussed current opportunities available at the companies Johnstown, PA location. The aeroparts division is currently seeking several structural and component assemblers, with a total of 25-30 positions potentially available by January of 2020.  An increased demand for the companies F-16 ‘Fighting Falcon’ is driving the need for more assembler positions.

McCann emphasized Lockheed’s diverse experience within aeronautics, and the culture of accountability they’ve built in the team-based environment.  Lockheed searches for individuals with a specific skill set, and their current needs find that “an A&P is a perfect fit,” says McGann.  In addition to salaries and benefits available, he also discussed opportunities for growth within the organization.  He also offered advice to students in 6th quarter, who still have several months before earning their degree and certifications.  “It’s never to early to apply, and apply for each job you are interested in.”

In addition to today’s presentation, representatives from Lockheed Martin are scheduled to attend Pittsburgh’s Annual Career Fair on February 27th.
