PIA becomes Partner School with PSAkbaker
PSA Airlines visited the Pittsburgh Campus Tuesday, August 6th, to celebrate the official partnership between PIA and PSA. PSA Airlines, which operates eight maintenance bases on the east coast, has been a top-employer at PIA campuses for several years. The regional airline, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines, was named ‘One of the Best Workplaces in Ohio’ from 2016 through 2018. The partnership will allow students at all four PIA campuses to participate in PSA’s Maintenance Student Pathway program.
The Maintenance Student Pathway is designed for students 6 to 12 months from their graduation date. Participation in the program will give students the opportunity to begin communication with the company before they graduate, as well as priority access to apprenticeship programs and additional training and academic support from Aviation Maintenance Professionals in the field. In addition, PSA will cover the cost of initial testing for the Airframe & Powerplant certification for those who choose to pursue a career with the airline.
Participation in the program requires students to maintain a 3.0 GPA while in their courses at PIA, attend quarterly meetings and events with PSA Airlines or recruiters, and successfully complete their A&P testing within 60 days of graduation.
PIA is honored to be a partner with PSA Airlines, and looks forward to future students pursuing their employment with the organization.
