PIA Gives Back With Pack-A-Plane

Students, faculty, and staff at PIA participated in the second annual ‘Pack-A-Plane’ event at the Pittsburgh Campus. The event was organized in support of the Marine Corps Toys-For-Tots fundraiser.  After initial success in 2020 with the toy drive, PIA committed to the event for the second time in 2021.  On Friday, December 10th, members of the Marine Corps arrived to collect the generous donations of the organization.  Local media attended the unpacking of the plane.

A plane-full of new, unwrapped toys were donated on behalf of PIA to the organization this year. Derek Vrabel, Student Services Coordinator for PIA Pittsburgh, said “When we can get behind a good cause and put toys in front of kids on Christmas morning, it’s a no-brainer. We plan on doing it long into the future.”

Seventh quarter students took a short study break to help unload the plane and pack loaded bags onto the U-haul for the Marine Corps members.

Each campus of PIA participated in a Toys-for-Tots drive this year, resulting in hundreds of gifts for children in the areas of campuses.

Thank you to all individuals who participated in PIA’s Toys-for-Tots events!
