PIA Students Receive David J. Forgac Aviation Scholarship Awards

Two PIA students have been named recipients of the 2022 David J. Forgac Aviation Scholarship. “We are so excited to keep our father’s memory alive in such a tangible way. We hope that these ladies graduate and enjoy exciting careers in aviation,” said Mandy Forgac, PIA graduate (’02) and daughter of the late David Forgac – the avid pilot, A&P Mechanic and Aviation Instructor for whom the scholarship is named. Hagerstown student Raegan Buzzard and Youngstown student Bailey Kimmel were presented with the $1,000 scholarships by their respective Campus Directors, Butch Adams and Joe DeRamo.

I am passionate about women in aviation.  Here at PIA I have a lot of support available to me, but in a male dominated trade, most women do not get that kind of support.

– Bailey Kimmel

Don’t ever let something hold you back. People don’t hire you for your aptitude. They hire you for your attitude. Work hard and be positive.
