Who is eligible to participate in the PIA Voluntary Vaccination Incentive Program?

  • Current PIA students who submit documentation to PIA for the full COVID-19 vaccination series by the program deadline AND who remain active PIA students as of the program deadline are eligible for the program incentives.

What incentives are offered by the PIA Voluntary Vaccination Incentive Program?

  •  1. $250 Incentive check: Current students who provide evidence of a fully vaccinated status by Friday, December 10, 2021, will receive $250.00 in the form of a check. Incentive checks will be processed and issued to all qualifying students once the submission deadline has passed.
    • Students who withdraw or otherwise cease to be active students after submitting vaccination documentation are not eligible for the incentive program.
  • 2.  One Entry into Drawing for tuition grant: In addition to the $250.00 per-student incentive, all current students who provide evidence of a fully vaccinated status by Friday, December 10, 2021, will be entered into a campus-based drawing for a larger award. One (1) student at each PIA campus (Pittsburgh, Hagerstown, Myrtle Beach, Youngstown) will be selected from a pool of eligible students for a tuition award equivalent to one FULL TERM of tuition at the current campus rate.
    • Tuition grant award will apply to the Winter 2022 Term beginning in January 2022 for all campuses.
      If a student selected for the tuition grant award is graduating in December 2021 or January 2022, that student would qualify for a refund of up to the amount of one term of tuition at his/her respective campus.

What if I withdraw, or otherwise leave PIA after submitting my vaccination information?

  • You must be a current active student at the time of the December 10, 2021, deadline to receive incentive awards for this program.
  • If you submit your vaccination information and withdraw, or you otherwise cease to be an active student on or before the submission deadline, you will not be eligible for the incentives.

How do I participate in the PIA Voluntary Vaccination Incentive Program?

  • To participate in the PIA Vaccination Incentive, you must provide documentation to PIA that shows that you have received the full COVID-19 vaccination series.
    • That includes individuals who received
      • Two doses of Moderna or Pfizer;
      • one dose of Johnson & Johnson or;
      • a full vaccination series of COVID-19 vaccines authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization per U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidance.

How do I provide my vaccination records securely?

  • Vaccination information must be provided to PIA through the PIA student portal.
    • The information will be validated by uploading an image of your COVID-19 vaccination card supplied to you at the time of your vaccination.
    • While a scanned image is preferable, clear photos are acceptable.
      • Please see Campus Director for scanning assistance.
    • All information on the form must be completed to be considered for incentive eligibility.
  • PIA Director of Student Affairs, Jason Mongan, will validate vaccination status and provide you documentation of approval.
    • Upon approval, you will then be eligible for the $250.00 incentive check and you will receive one entry into the drawing for the tuition award.

What is the deadline to provide COVID-19 vaccination information?

  • Must be submitted to PIA no later than Friday, December 10, 2021.

If I am already vaccinated, do I qualify for the incentives?

  • Yes, current students who are already fully vaccinated are eligible to receive incentives, as long as vaccination documentation is submitted by the deadline.
    • You do NOT need to have participated in a COVID-19 vaccination clinic held at a PIA campus to be considered for the incentive, as long as appropriate vaccination card/information is submitted.

I can’t find my vaccination card. What should I do?

  • Contact your vaccination provider for assistance.

How will my vaccination information be stored?

  • Vaccination information will be stored securely in PIA’s Student Information System with access only provided to those administrators that will be working as part of the PIA Voluntary Vaccination Incentive Program.
