Pratt & Whitney Campus Visit

Pratt & Whitney Campus Visit

Representatives from Pratt & Whitney Canada were on campus Friday, October 25th to discuss opportunities available at their Bridgeport, WV facility.

Fred Smart and Greg Wimer met with AMT students in 6th and 7th quarters about the organization and conducted on-site interviews with students.  Pratt & Whitney, like many other aviation companies, expressed concerns regarding impending retirements and the need for skilled technicians to fill those positions.  One sentiment emphasized throughout the presentation, however, was the stellar retention rate of employees at the company.  “When people start working here, they don’t leave,” said Wimer.

Pratt & Whitney Canada employees over 800 employees, many of whom are based out of the Bridgeport facility.  With the goal of “creating the future with innovative products,” Pratt & Whitney’s pillars of success emphasize integrity, quality, and dependability.  While hiring for various positions, students entering the organization with A&P’s were encouraged to apply for Group 4 Level employment, which includes Assembly, Machinists, Platers, and NDT Inspectors.
