The Clifford Ball Memorial Scholarship Affirms Recipient’s Career Path
Jereme Thompson, a 6th Quarter student at Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (PIA) in West Mifflin, PA, is the recipient of The Clifford Ball Memorial Scholarship through The Aviation Foundation. The $2500 scholarship is awarded to one 6th quarter AMT student per quarter at the main PIA campus only. Applicants write an essay with their personal journey into the field of aviation, which for Jereme included a lot of soul-searching as he considered nursing and becoming a pilot while working in construction. While he contemplated flight school, he knew he would want to be able to fix the plane as well, so he searched for aviation maintenance schools and landed at PIA. Other requirements include a minimum GPA of 3.0 and being a resident of Western Pennsylvania. Jereme is also a member of the Aviation Maintenance Competition team on campus and will be competing with the team in Dallas in April.
Congratulations to Jereme!
